Graduates of the business program learn to apply skills such as critical thinking and risk taking, along with team building, project management, and communications/information technology, to their everyday tasks. These skills will help you advance in your career or prepare to earn a master’s degree.

The Department of Business has been accredited for all of its degree programs by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education.

Our Tuesday and Thursday night class schedule, as well as some online classes, are a key to success for those who want to earn a degree while working part- or full-time. Compact eight-week sessions are convenient and user-friendly. In just two years, you will earn an undergraduate degree on a schedule that can fit into your life.

The typical bachelor's degree recipient can expect to earn about 61% more over a 40-year working life than the typical high school graduate earns over the same period. The expected lifetime earnings "premium" of college graduates who also have earned a higher degree is over one million dollars (in today's dollars, $570,000) more than high school graduates. Your Degree
Union College’s Department of Psychology offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
A psychology degree is excellent preparation for a wide variety of careers. After completing a major in psychology, our students are able to enter into jobs in the helping professions as well as in private industry in positions involving research and decision-making.

Our bachelor’s in psychology also prepares students who wish to earn a master’s degree in order to obtain licensure in clinical or school psychology fields, or to pursue advanced studies in educational, sport, forensic, or research psychology.

Union College London Center offers both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in psychology, so students have the luxury of earning an undergraduate and advanced degree in one location.

Exceptionally qualified students with a commitment to professional psychology may be eligible for the combined bachelor’s/master’s degree program in psychology. This is an accelerated program for students to achieve a bachelor’s and master’s degree concurrently. If they wish, graduates of the combined program will be prepared to pursue state licensure or admission to doctoral-level programs.

Psychology graduates generally report being pleased with how what they studied in school helped prepare them for both life and work. A woman who opened her own business shortly after earning a bachelor's in psychology explains, “After all, psychology is the business of life.” Psychology graduates continue to be excited by the changes taking place in the field that relate to what they are now doing.

In 2002-2003, psychology was the most popular intended undergraduate major according to a survey of college freshmen. In 2000, 74,654 students graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Some students stop with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and find work related to their college major. But the study of psychology at the bachelor’s level is also a fine preparation for many other professions.

In 1999, fewer than 5% of 1997 and 1998 psychology bachelor’s recipients were employed in psychology or a field related to psychology. Instead, two-thirds were in for-profit business settings, usually the sales/service sector. These students often possess good research and writing skills, are good problem solvers, and have well-developed, higher-level thinking ability when it comes to analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information. Most find jobs in administrative support, public affairs, education, business, sales, service industries, health, the biological sciences, and computer programming. They work as employment counselors, correction counselor trainees, interviewers, personnel analysts, probation officers, and writers.
