Inside Passage Cruise
July 24 - 31, 2004
ITINERARY
Day 1
Fly to Seattle and transfer to the Diamond
Princess, transfers included.
Day 2
At Sea. Enjoy all the amenities and features
of the Diamond Princess. Activities are endless or take a swim in
the enclosed atrium pool.
Day
3
Juneau - arrive at 11 AM depart 10 PM. Alaska's
capital city was once part of Alaska's Gold Rush. Take an afternoon
hike through the wild frontiers surrounding Juneau or enjoy a quick
tram ride up Mt. Roberts for spectacular views. Visit monumental Medenhall
Glacier, the largest glacier accessible by road. Plan to join your
fellow Union cruisers for an authentic Alaska Salmon Bake while in
Juneau. The Salmon Bake is included in your cruise.
Day 4
Skagway - arrive at 6 AM depart 8:45 PM. Few
one-time boomtowns retain the flavor of the Gold Rush days like Skagway.
This "Gateway to the Klondike" is preserved as a National
Historic Park and features one of the oldest narrow-gauge railroads
in existence. Step back in time and stroll the wooden boardwalks of
this historic town.
Day 5
Tracy Arm Cruising - arrive at 11 AM depart
3 PM. This spectacular glacier fjord awaits you just 50 miles south
of Juneau. You'll
see ice-covered mountain terrain, vertical rock walls and cascading
waterfalls while cruising. You might even catch sight of bears, moose,
deer and mountain goats.
Day 6
Ketchikan - arrive at 6 AM depart 12:30 PM.
Alaska's first city is also known as the "Salmon Capital of the
World." The city is built on step hillsides along the water and
features a colorful and bustling port. Visit Saxman Native Village
and discover its vibrant Tlingit Indian culture and spectacular totem
poles.
Day 7
Victoria, B.C. - arrive at 7 PM depart 12 M.
A one-time colonial post, this sophisticated seaside city is alive
with colorful history. It's also the sunniest spot in Canada. Take
a stroll through the spectacular 35-acre Butchart Gardens or visit
the Empress Hotel.
Day 8
Seattle - disembark AM and transfer to the
airport for your trip home.
SPECIAL EVENT
During the first half of our cruise we will
have a cocktail party sponsored by Steve Weaver '71 and Carlson Wagonlit
Travel giving everyone a chance to mingle and get to know one another.
We will bring some Union College yearbooks along to get a glance at
the earlier years.

Dining - From Alaska King Salmon to Baked

Dining throughout your cruise is a feast for
the senses. All your meals are included onboard ship, except for alcoholic
beverages, some specialty drinks, sodas, and certain snacks. For your
dining pleasure the Diamond offers an international main dining room
and four themed dining rooms with alternative dining at the Italian
restaurant, Sabatini's.

Travel Documents Needed
A government issued picture ID, drivers license
and birth certificate with raised seal or a current US Passport.
How much should I tip?
During your cruise, you will be meeting many
members of the dining and accommodations staff in a variety of locations
onboard, who will be providing you with extraordinary service for
all your dining and stateroom needs. For your convenience, Princess
has modified its gratuity policy to make it easier for you to reward
excellent service onboard all Princess vessels. A charge of $10 per
passenger, per day, for dining and stateroom personnel will be automatically
added to your shipboard account. Princess feels certain you will find
the service onboard exemplary and should you wish to make any adjustments,
up or down, you may do so by contacting the Purser's Desk onboard.
Note: a 15% bar gratuity is automatically added to your bar tab. Gratuities
for other shipboard staff such as casino dealers and spa personnel
are at your discretion.
