Two Hazard Area School Choirs Visit Union
The Hazard High School Chorus, led by Letha Patterson, and the Perry County High School Choir, conducted by Eddie Campbell (a Union alumnus), recently visited Union College in Barbourville. Each talented group treated an appreciative campus community to a short concert in the Conway Boatman Chapel. The students were then treated in return to "Good Lovin'" and "Stand by Me" by Union's six-member a capella group, Union Harmony, who vividly demonstrated that being a music major is far from boring or stuffy!
After the performances, both groups got a taste of Union College life with brief, informal vocal workshops led by music professor Dr. Randall Sheets, followed by lunch in the college cafeteria and tours of the campus.
