Denise Wainscott Named Interim Vice President for Advancement
Denise Wainscott has been named interim vice president for advancement at Union College, following the recent departure of Jodie Barnes.
Wainscott has been the alumni relations director since 1999, strengthening connections with Union alumni not only locally and across Kentucky, but also nationally. Over the past three years, she has spearheaded Unions annual homecoming festivities as well as successfully developed a variety of programs that have increased alumni support and active participation in College activities. A Union alumnae herself, Wainscott earned both her undergraduate and Masters degrees at the College and during the latter years of her studies, also served as admissions counselor, career counselor and placement officer. She then moved on to a more than 20-year career in non-profit management, including a 15-year association with KCEOC in a variety of key positions.
Given Denises close ties to both Union and the community, and many years of grant-writing and fundraising experience, she was the logical choice to sustain the momentum weve created over these last few years, said President David Joyce, especially as we are within $1 million of our $15 million Campaign for Union goal. Denise has done an excellent job developing our alumni relations office and Im confident shell continue to lead the College toward the fulfillment of our advancement goals.
A nationwide search for the vice president of advancement will be initiated later in the fall. A search for a new alumni relations director will begin immediately.
