Denise Wainscott Named VP for Advancement at Union College

Union College has announced that Denise Wainscott has been appointed vice president for advancement. Wainscott had been serving as interim vice president since last August.

Wainscott holds both bachelors and masters degrees from Union and prior to her interim appointment had been the alumni relations director for three years. During the latter years of her studies, she also served as admissions counselor, career counselor and placement officer.

"Denise knows both the College and our alumni, and has numerous close ties to the community," said President David Joyce. "She has enthusiastically embraced a leadership role over the past seven months and I have the utmost confidence that she will continue to advance Union with our alumni and many supporters and friends."

Prior to rejoining Union in 1999, Wainscott spent more than 20-years in non-profit management and fundraising with community action programs. A Commonwealth Fellow and Leadership Kentucky graduate, Wainscott also previously served on the state Housing Policy Advisory Committee as well as the boards of Leadership Tri-County, the Kentucky Head Start Association, Eastern Kentucky Child Care Coalition, and Kentucky Housing and Homeless Coalition.
