Union Graduate Student Honored for Excellence
in Teaching
Union
Graduate Student Ronnie Barnes has been chosen as one of 22 recipients
of the 2004 Teacher Achievement Award and will be eligible for the
2004 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award.
Barnes and the other teachers chosen for the competition
will be honored at a ceremony in Frankfort on January 8, 2003 at
which time, the elementary, middle and high school teachers of the
year will be chosen. One of these three will be selected as the
Kentucky Teacher of the Year.
Barnes
was entered into the competition after being chosen by the London/Laurel
County Chamber of Commerce as the Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Barnes and the other winners were selected
based upon the application and information on teaching philosophy,
experience, community involvement and from letters of recommendation
submitted by their peers, students, parents, administrators and
community members.
