Union College Welcomes New Development
Officer
Gary
Simpson of Somerset, Kentucky joined Union College this week as
Development Officer for the Office of Advancement.
Simpson has a wide range of knowledge pertaining
to fund raising, grant writing, program implementation and leadership.
Simpson will lead the colleges efforts to organize fund drives
across the state. His plans include discovering new donors, reconnecting
with past donors and increasing gifts from individuals and corporations.
His past experience at the university level has
included serving as a Project Director at Morehead State University,
as District Executive for Boy Scouts of America, as Director of
Religious Education at St. Patrick Episcopal Church. He has also
served in leadership roles with Kiwanis and the American Cancer
Society.
Simpson obtained his undergraduate degree in History/Pre-law
from the University of Kentucky and has Masters Work in History
from Murray State. He also has a degree in Education for Ministry
from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
