Union College received a $5000.00 grant from London,
Kentucky's Household Consumer Lending. The grant was received through
Household's Support of Higher Education program and will be used
to provide basic computer and typing classes through Union College's
Programs at the Bennett Center, also in London.
Union's Programs at the Bennett Center provide
basic skills classes as indicated, as well as specialized training
classes and a very successful Degree Completion Program. The Degree
Completion Program is an eighteen-month program where students earn
a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor
in Management.
Household's commitment to partnering with the
local community has always been a priority for the company. A huge
part of that partnership in the community is working closely with
the local colleges and universities. "Having a strong relationship
with Union College is an extremely valuable resource to us and any
time we can give back to Union College we are excited and proud
to do so," commented Dianna Hollin, human resources manager
for the London Household site.
