Union College Offers New Grant Program
Students Could Attend Tuition-Free
Union College is rolling out a new grant that
may cover the entire cost of tuition for Kentucky students. The
Union Commonwealth Leadership Grant is a new initiative for the
college--one that college administrators feel will benefit area
students immensely.
According to Jerry Jackson, dean of enrollment management at Union,
the grant is for Kentucky residents who have a minimum of a 3.0
grade point average, a composite ACT score of 17 or greater, who
show a demonstrated financial need on the standard FASFA form, and
have an estimated family contribution of $500 or less.
"When combined with federal, state and other institutional
aid, the Union Grant will cover the full cost of tuition at Union
College," Jackson said.
Students who wish to be considered for the Union Grant must file
a FAFSA form by March 15, and send a completed application for enrollment
to the college's admission office by April 1.
"Applications are always accepted at Union, however, those
received after April 1 may result in students being awarded aid
based on availability. That's why we encourage students who meet
the criteria to get their information into our office by the posted
deadlines," he added.
Students interested in applying for the Union Commonwealth Leadership
Grant should call the Union College admissions and financial aid
office at 1-800-489-8646 or locally at 606-546-1657.
