Kentucky Private College Week 2005
Tour up to Ten Colleges, Apply for Free
Union
College will be participating in the Kentucky Private College Week
scheduled for June 13-17. Students can explore their college options
and save money during the second annual event sponsored by the Association
of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities (AIKCU). The weeklong
event is a collaborative effort among 19 independent colleges and
universities in Kentucky to introduce prospective students to the
benefits of a private higher education.
During Private College Week each campus
will offer daily sessions at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m (local time)
that include a campus tour and information on admission, financial
aid, academics, and student life.
Students will receive application fee waivers
to the colleges and universities they visit. With ten visits possible
during the week and application fees ranging up to $50, students
can save hundreds of dollars.
Private College Week activities provide students
and their families a glimpse of the academic and social factors
that make private college students successful. "High quality
academic programs, small classes, individual attention, available
faculty and vibrant campus life at affordable prices are hallmarks
of Kentucky's private colleges and universities," notes AIKCU
President Dr. Gary Cox. "I urge students and families to visit
several campuses during Private College Week and consider the possibilities
of a private college education."
To participate, students may register on-line
at the website for the Association of Kentucky Independent Colleges
and Universities (AIKCU): www.aikcu.org.
Students will receive confirmation of their registrations, along
with follow-up reminders from the colleges they plan to visit. Or,
students can contact the colleges that interest them directly and
register by phone.
