Judy Nicholson, Executive Director of United Way of Laurel County, presented a plaque to Union College’s technology staff last week. The plaque is in appreciation for their support of this year’s United Way benefit auction.
In her presentation, Ms. Nicholson praised Union’s technology staff “for opening up a whole new audience for us.” This was the first year the United Way offered the auction on-line. All funds raised benefit the twenty-four local, non-profit organizations who receive United Way of Laurel County funding.
Union’s technology staff members made the first on-line auction possible by volunteering their time, experience, and technological capabilities. They have already started planning for next year’s auction.
