New York Based Biddies Return to Perform at Union
The Lascivious Biddies, a genre-defying quartet based in New York, will return to Union College for a free concert on Monday, August 27, at 7:00 pm at Conway Boatman Chapel.
The Biddies made their Barbourville premier last fall, after local residents Anne and Paul Pedersen suggested Union bring them to town. The couple and their daughters saw the Biddies perform at Carnegie Hall’s Family Concert Series and helped fund their performance at Union College. Community and campus response was so positive, the college agreed to bring The Lascivious Biddies back for another concert.

The all-female cocktail pop quartet makes headlines for an energetic show filled with humor, expert musicianship, and “angelic harmonies.” The foursome consists of Saskia Lane on bass, Lilly Maase on guitar, Lee Ann Westover as lead vocalist, and Deidre Rodman on piano and melodica.
Blending jazz, pop, and cabaret with four-part harmonies, The Lascivious Biddies have carried their sound from coast to coast. They have performed at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Birdland, and in numerous theatres across the country. The Biddies and their music have been featured on The Food Network, The Discovery Channel, and in a segment on CBS Evening News.
This year, Union is able to offer the concert free-of-charge thanks to the support of Helen Mills and Gary Tannenbaum, the Barbourville Woman’s Study Club, Paul and Anne Pederson, and various campus departments.
