Union College Alumni and Friends Gatherings
held in Northern Kentucky and Nashville
Union College alumni and friends met at three gatherings in Northern Kentucky on June 26, 27, and 28. In addition, an alumni and friends gathering was held in Nashville, Tennessee on July 31. The Northern Kentucky events were held in Maysville, Covington, and Florence.
Maysville alumni and friends enjoyed dinner at Caproni’s Restaurant on Wednesday, June 26. The Covington gathering was held on Thursday, June 27 at Chez Nora Restaurant in MainStrasse Village, while the Florence group met at Karlo’s Bistro Italia on Friday, June 28. Nashville area alumni and friends met at Valentino’s Ristorante on West End Avenue.
Each group shared memories of Union and met new friends, including discovering former classmates while enjoying a great meal. Frank Newman ’88, Union’s Director of Alumni Relations, spoke informally about a variety of campus projects. The discussions focused on several construction and renovation projects taking place on campus, including a $4.2 million geothermal energy project and improvements to key legacy buildings. The group received updates on various academic initiatives such as the newly established Honors Community, student enrollment totals for 2007-08, and recently added majors and minors.
Union’s alumni and friends gather throughout the country to relive memories and hear the latest news from their alma mater. If you are interested in hosting a gathering or wish to know about upcoming get-togethers in your area, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 1-606-546-1226 or at fnewman@unionky.edu.
