Union College Hosts Blood Drive

Union College will host a “Gain Yardage by Giving Blood” drive on Monday, October 15, in the student center on campus. The blood drive is a competition with Pikeville College.

The drive is for the Central Kentucky Blood Center, which serves local hospitals throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. Anyone who is 17 years of age, weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in general good health can donate. Photo ID is required of all donors.

Donated blood helps keep the blood bank shelves in local hospitals fully stocked for the sick and injured who need transfusions. At times, hospitals have as little as a one or two day supply on-hand.

The blood drive takes place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday in the lower-level of the student center.
