Union College Announces Award Winners
Six Union College alumni have been selected for the annual Hall of Fame and alumni awards. The awards will be presented during the Homecoming Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 27, at 6:00 p.m. in Robsion Arena.
Alumni who are selected for the Hall of Fame have made outstanding contributions to their fields, been pioneers in their areas of expertise, and provided leadership at state, regional or national levels. This year’s inductees are Kaye Baird, Bill Browning, Don Burton, Matt Hill, and Sue Rosenbalm.
Don Burton, a 1957 graduate, and Matt Hill, who graduated in 1995, will be inducted into the Union College Athletics Hall of Fame. Mr. Burton resides in Bowling Green. Mr. Hill lives in Lexington.
Bill Browning, a 1987 graduate, will be inducted into the Business and Professional Hall of Fame. He lives in Mason, Ohio.
Sue Rosenbalm, who earned her undergraduate degree at Union in 1949, and her master’s degree through Union’s graduate program in 1965, has been chosen to enter the Educators’ Hall of Fame. She is joined by Kaye Baird, a 1962 graduate. Ms. Rosenbalm lives in Ewing, Virginia. Ms. Baird resides in Pikeville.
Donavan Cain, a 1997 graduate who now lives in Paris, Kentucky, will receive the Rising Star Award. The award was created for recent graduates who have excelled in their chosen fields and are recognized leaders who serve their communities and their alma mater.
