Homecoming Brings 300 to Union College

Fans were treated to an exciting comeback effort during the homecoming football game.

Alumni and friends descended on campus over the weekend for Union College’s annual homecoming celebration. Nearly three-hundred guests returned to campus for a full slate of events.
Visitors were treated to cook-outs, open houses, live music, class reunions, an awards banquet, golf tournament, a football game, and a number of other activities. Former students from the nineteen-thirties through the class of 2007 took advantage of the festivities.

For many, including an alumnus returning for the first time in thirty years, homecoming was a chance to see a very different campus than the one they remembered. Several remarked on the beauty of the facilities and grounds, due in large part to recent renovation, construction, and landscaping.
At the annual awards banquet on Saturday evening, six alumni received high honors. Five were inducted into the Union College

Alumni Hall of Fame: Kaye Baird and Sue Rosenbalm joined the Educator’s Hall of Fame, Bill Browning was inducted into the Business and Professional Hall of Fame, and Matt Hill and Don Burton became the latest additions to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Reverend Donavan Cain received the Rising Star Award for recent graduates.
The weekend ended Sunday morning, as alumni and friends gathered for a worship service and brunch. Next year’s homecoming is scheduled for the weekend of October 17.
