Union to Host Three-Day Series on Faith

Dr. Jacqueline Comito of Iowa State University, an anthropologist, writer, recording artist and consultant, will lead a three-day series of events at Union College March 2, 3 and 4 as part of the Staley Distinguished Scholar Lecture program.
Dr. Comito is the founder of Community Based Consultants and the Smiling Stone Soup publishing company. She is a frequent speaker, lecturer and workshop leader who emphasizes how “a strong sense of faith can root us as we search for the strength to make necessary changes in the way we live our lives.”
On Sunday, March 2, Dr. Comito will give a liturgical musical performance in the atrium of Sharp Academic Center at 8:00 p.m. On Monday, March 3, she will lead a workshop on the Path of Joy at Black Technology Center at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Comito will complete the three-day series on Tuesday, March 4, as she discusses the integration of scholarship and faith at a 9:30 a.m. lecture at Black Technology Center. Each event is open to the public.
The Staley Distinguished Scholar Lecture program brings scholars to Union College to speak to the role of spirituality in the educational and professional lives of individuals in the campus and local communities. The program is funded by the Thomas F. Staley Foundation of New York.
