Representatives of Union National Bank’s board of trustees presented Union College president Edward D. de Rosset with a check for $10,000 on Monday.
The gift, given annually by Union National Bank, will help the college offer scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need.
“Union National Bank is a much-appreciated partner of Union’s,” said Denise Wainscott, Union’s vice president for advancement. “They have always joined with us in seeing the great potential and promise of our students, and their annual gift helps bring that promise to fruition.”
Wainscott also appreciates other forms of support offered by Union National. “Funds are crucial, but so is good leadership. Union College is fortunate to have members of the bank’s board of trustees also serve on the college’s board,” she said. “They bring superb leadership skills to the college, and have helped usher us into one of the best periods in the college’s history in terms of enrollment, financial strength and infrastructure.”
