New One-Stop Search Function Offered by Library

The Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library has announced a new tool that will make online research much easier for students, faculty and the entire campus community.

Through EBSCO Host Integrated Search (EHIS), the campus community can take advantage of a single access point for many information needs. EHIS is a federated search engine that allows individuals to use one tool for searching most of the library’s online databases. Users can search by subject or by individual databases.

The new tool can search 47 of the library’s databases, including all EBSCO platform databases, JSTOR, OmniFILE Full Text Mega and Union’s Online Catalog (OPAC) of library resources.

Students and faculty can still search individual databases via the Library and Information Resources page if they wish. More specialized databases, including American Chemical Society, Polling the Nations, and WESTLAW Campus Research are not included in EHIS search.

The library staff says this is a “major addition” to its collection of online resources, and encourages the campus community to explore EHIS on the Library and Information Resources page.

For more information about EBSCO and other services offered by the library, visit the Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library on the Web.
