Kenneth Collins, Ph.D., will give guest lectures at Union Nov. 16 and 17 as part of the Willson-Gross lecture series, which brings a visiting Christian scholar to campus each year.

Christian Scholar to Give Guest Lectures at Union

Kenneth Collins, Ph.D., will deliver Union College’s Willson-Gross lecture series on Nov. 16 and 17 at the college.
 
Dr. Collins is a professor, author and ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He has written five books on Christian theologian John Wesley. He has also published books on spirituality, including Exploring Christian Spirituality: an Ecumenical Reader, and The Evangelical Moment: The Promise of an American Religion. Collins is a professor of Wesley studies and historical theology at Asbury Theological Seminary.
 
Collins will give his first lecture on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Patridge Campus Center conference rooms. The title of the lecture is Real Christianity as Integrating Theme.
 
The second lecture, John Wesley’s Theology of Holy Love, is Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Conway Boatman Chapel.
 
Both lectures are free and open to the public.

Collins’s presentations are sponsored by Union’s Willson-Gross lecture series, which brings distinguished Christian scholars to campus each year to address vital issues confronting both church and society.
