(F) Sacred choral literature will be studied for use in worship and will include score analysis and conducting/rehearsal techniques. Prerequisite: MUSC 165, MUSC 166, and MUSC 322 or permission of the instructor.

(on demand) One semester or one summer of supervised field work in an approved church. Prerequisite: Consent of the Music faculty.

(F) An examination of the nursing profession, including the nurse's role in health care, standards of practice, and the future of the profession.

(S) The use of theoretical reasoning and its role in current nursing practice.

(F) Focuses on cultural assessment and providing culturally competent nursing care from a transcultural caring perspective.

(S) An examination of the physical or biochemical changes that are the cause or result of pathology or disease processes.

(S) Care of clients in community settings with a focus on populations, illness prevention and health promotions. Prerequisites: NURS 332 and 360. Co-requisite: NURS 421.

(F) Focuses on management and leadership theories and principles applied to nursing practice with an emphasis on developing skills and strategies for innovative and creative approaches to healthcare management and leadership challenges. (Prerequisite for RN to BSN- NURS 320, NURS 338 and NURS 360; Co-requisite for RN to BSN- NURS 431).

(Sum) Application of prerequisite knowledge and current evidence to persistent and emerging healthcare issues identified in scholarly literature and current epidemiological evidence. Topics will include current global, national, state, and local issues, genetics and genomics. Prerequisites: NURS 360.

(F,S) Non-swimmers only.

(S) Advanced techniques of water safety and rescue. American Red Cross certification awarded to those who qualify. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification also awarded to those who qualify. Prerequisite: Successful completion of a swimming skills pre-test or permission of the instructor.
