I love the autumn season. The rays of the sun fall on us at a more oblique angle, casting the whole world in a slightly different hue, anticipating the reds and golds of turning leaves. Moderate temperatures moderate tempers, and just after the first killing frost the air becomes chilly and crisp.
The website Spirituality & Practice recommends three autumnal themes for meditation: 1) “balancing darkness with light,” 2) “letting go,” and 3) “acknowledging impermanence.” Not all of life can be characterized as summer, and the bittersweet nature of autumn provides both moments to ponder and moments to celebrate.
May your autumn be full of beauty and significance.
