Union College Theatre production Crimes of the Heart opens April 1

Even “Crimes of the Heart” have consequences. The 1979 hit from Beth Henley will detail each of those painful, but equally laughable, moments for audiences joining in the spring production of the Union College Theatre. The production opens Wednesday, April 1.

Union College is ranked No. 24 in the NAIA

The Union College baseball team comes in at No. 24 in this week's NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, marking the first time on the 2015 season that the Bulldogs have been voted in the top 25.

Union College finished season ranked No. 11

The Union College men's basketball team can now add one more historic accomplishment to the list for their banner 2014-15 season, as the Bulldogs end the year with their highest ranking in program history, coming in at No. 11 in the final NAIA Division II Coaches' Poll of the year.

Book discussion group to host final gathering on April 14

There is much more to a book than just the words on a page. A discussion group on campus has furthered this principal during the semester with several forums focused on Appalachia authors. The group will meet once more in April, closing the discussion series for the semester.

Marcia Hawkins narrates "The Sneetches" at Lay Elementary

Union College President Marcia Hawkins, Ph.D., recently joined the Knox County education community in presentation of “The Sneetches.” The Dr. Seuss work is a collection of four short stories collectively referenced as “one of the top 100 books for children.”

Union College's Johnson named NAIA All-American honorable mention

Union College center Deante Johnson has been named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention for the second straight season, as the organization announced the 2014-15 Division II Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Wednesday.

Union College placed 2 players on the WBCA All-America Team

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Tuesday the 2015 WBCA National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) Coaches' All-America Team, Lydia Nash and Haley Perkins landed on the honorable mention squad for the Bulldogs.

Union College to host online “Transfer Madness”

Help is on the way for Kentucky college students interested in transferring their credits or associate degree to a four-year university. Union College will participate in an online transfer fair and will be waiving application fees for prospective students.

Bulldogs finish season with 30-5 record

Embry-Riddle's Dalton Barnes scored a game-high 21 points, as the No. 2 Eagles pulled away late in the second half past the No. 15 Union College men's basketball in an 89-75 win in the Second Round of the 2015 NAIA Division II National Championship in Keeter Gymnasium.

Union College swims teams excel at NAIA National Championship Meet

The Union College men's and women's swimming teams ended their 2014-15 seasons on Saturday evening, finishing off action at the 2015 NAIA National Championships at the Oklahoma City Community College Natatorium.

Union College alum Phillip Sharp to receive 2015 Othmer Gold Medal

Union College alum Phillip Sharp, Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a faculty member of the Department of Biology and the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, will receive the 2015 Othmer Gold Medal at Heritage Day, May 14, at the Chemical Heritage Foundation.

Union College wins the 2015 AAC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship

Guard DeAntray Stevens scored a game-high 20 points off the bench to lead the way, as the No. 17 Union College men's basketball team captured the 2015 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Championship in a 84-63 victory over Milligan (Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon.
