Union College has expanded its fully online master’s programs to include a Teacher Leader degree with two options for concentration areas: Educational Policy and Cultural Competency.
Applications are now being accepted for fall classes that begin Aug. 27.
The Teacher Leader: Educational Policy program challenges students to gain a thorough understanding of the educational system’s political structure at the state and national levels. This degree could lead to advisory board positions and provides leadership skills to assist in influencing political actions for education.
The Teacher Leader: Cultural Competency program is designed to help educators effectively lead diverse student populations. This concentration area was chosen in direct response to significant increases in diverse populations in the region.
“Our partnerships with local P-12 school districts, the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board, the Council on PostSecondary Education and our program alumni have provided invaluable input during the development of these program options for Teacher Leader,” said Jason Reeves, Union’s dean of educational studies. “We are excited to begin a new chapter of service to region.”
