Thank you for showing interest in serving as a Resident Assistant (RA) for Union College. The Resident Assistant position is a very demanding, yet rewarding opportunity for our students to serve the college community. This position is extremely valuable to the other residents living within our buildings and the faculty and staff working with your peers. It takes a very committed and dedicated leader to serve in this capacity.
The application/selection process is a two phase experience. In order to participate in the application/selection process all interested students should print off the application and reference forms from the links found at the bottom of this page. Each candidate must complete and submit a written application, resume/cover letter, and two references .All applications should be emailed or turned into Jared Hirtz in the Office of Residence Life.
During Phase One the applicant will participate in a group interview with other candidates. During this interview the candidates will be asked several questions related to the RA position and participate in a few group exercises. To be signed up for the group interview please submit all documentation for application and you will be given the date and time for the group process
Phase Two consists of the individual interview. When a candidate has successfully completed the application packet, each candidate will schedule an individual interview with Jared Hirtz, Director of Residence Life. The individual interview will include one candidate and multiple staff members.
