Record 225 Student-Athletes Named to AD Honor Roll

Record 225 Student-Athletes Named to AD Honor RollUnion College Director of Athletics Tim Curry announced the 2015 Fall Athletic Director's Honor Roll on Tuesday, honoring Bulldog student-athletes who have recorded a grade-point average of 3.0 or above for the most recent semester.

In all, 225 Bulldogs made the grade, setting a new record for most honorees since the honor roll was established in 2011. The previous high came in Spring 2015 when 173 received the award.

Of the honorees, 27 posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average last semester. This is the second-most in the honor roll's history, one shy of the mark of 28 set in Fall 2014. The women's basketball team had five individuals with a 4.0, while volleyball had four.

The football team lead the way with 28 total honorees. Softball and women's track & field each had 20 earn the recognition, while volleyball and baseball placed 19 and 18 on the list, respectively.

A total of 11 programs recorded cumulative grade-point averages over 3.0 with women's cycling leading the with a 3.57 and women's tennis following 3.46. As a department, Union recorded a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.98, surpassing the previous high of 2.87 which was set twice in Fall 2011 and Spring 2015.
