Union College ranked No. 13 in final 2015 NAIA Coaches' PollThe Union College men's soccer team wraps up its historic season with a No. 13 ranking in the 2015 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced Wednesday by the national office.

Union received 291 total voting points to land 13th. This is the first time Union ended the season ranked since 2001 when it earned a No. 3 ranking.

The Bulldogs capped off an unforgettable season, ending the year with a 17-2-4 overall record. The 17 wins ties the program record for most in the season, equally the 2000 team's win total when Union posted a 17-5 mark.

In addition to tying the program mark for wins, Union set a number of other program records this season, including best winning percentage (0.826), fewest losses in a season (2), fewest goals allowed in a season (17), lowest goals-against average for a season (0.73) and most shutouts for in a season (12). 

Union had several players earn individual honors. Luke Hitchman, which led the team in goals (10) and assists (8), earned a NAIA All-American Honorable mention and was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Goalkeeper Marcelo Mercuri was tabbed the AAC Defensive Player of the Year. He finished the season with 96 saves and set program records for most shutouts in a season (8) and lowest goals-against average for a season (0.73).

Joining Hitchman and Mercuri on the All-AAC First Team were Jason Jacobs and Andre Scott . Jamie Mclellan and Louis Nuttal represented Union on the second team.

The Bulldogs captured its first-ever conference tournament championship, winning the title game 4-1 at Bryan College on Nov. 13.
