It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Quetha Boles on Tuesday, September 10th. Quetha faithfully served in the Weeks Townsend Memorial Library for 31 years, her most recent role being the Coordinator of Library Technical Services. Over the course of her service to Union, Quetha held just about every library staff position. Through the years, Quetha exhibited her dedication to the Library and to the College. She volunteered on several projects and was very active in her church. Included is a quote from Quetha when she was recognized for her 20th year of service:

“I have worked at Union for 20 years – always in the library – I love where I work – because I love books. I love to read. All the time. When I’m not reading you can usually find me with headphones stuck on my head – listening to and preparing music for my church choir. I‘m also one of the ‘chow down gals’ at my church who plan and prepare food for special occasions and for every Wednesday night for around 175 people and youth who attend Awanas at my church. At this present time, my husband, family and I are trying to clear a field behind our home that runs along a creek bank and pave a walking trail.”

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hopper Funeral Home: Visitation services begin Thursday, September 12 from 6pm - 9pm, continuing the morning of Friday, September 13 from 10 am until the Funeral Service at 1pm.
