KY Gives Union College supporters donated $7,000 during one day of giving – KY Gives Day, a statewide campaign focused on supporting non-profits.

“It is monumental for Union College to receive this type of support in just one day of giving,” said Mike McPherson, Vice-President for Advancement. “Union’s fundraising activities help us to continually enhance the experience we offer our students.”

Union College joined the event to reach out to alumni and friends across Kentucky as well as those that were impacted by their time spent on the Barbourville campus. Nearly 6,000 supporters heard Union’s “Fuel the Fire” message broadcast during KY Gives Day, held on May 24. Donations were requested for student support, which provides enhanced financial resources for the 1,000 students that call Union home.

“This was another opportunity for our supporters to engage with future generations of Union College alumni,” McPherson added. “We appreciate everyone’s willingness to be involved.”

KY Gives Day is a 24-hour event sponsored by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network. This is the fourth year the event was held bringing together several hundred non-profit organizations from across the state. A total of $181,649 was raised Tuesday and over $1 million has been raised during the campaign over the last four years.
