Russell Sisson was born and raised in Memphis, TN, where he graduated from Christian Brothers High School and Rhodes College (B.A., Honors in Classics). He earned graduate degrees at Yale (M. Div.) and Emory (Ph.D.). The focus of his graduate study and ongoing research and writing is the influence of Greco-Roman culture on Judaism and Christianity. Dr. Sisson teaches courses in biblical studies, the history of Christianity, and philosophy. He is coach of the men’s and women’s golf teams.
